Cuisine

“Eat Global, Dine Local” is Il Mercato’s philosophy. We purchase the freshest, seasonal ingredients and prepare them in such a way that dishes and flavors from all over the world are represented.  Many items on our menu change frequently based on season, cravings or simply food that we think our guests would really enjoy. Simple as that. Our specials are usually dependent upon what Capt. Matt down in Haulover caught that particular afternoon or what Chef Emily was able to procure from her other sources…we usually don’t know until the last minute. Wine

We focus on value wines from around the world. In other words – a great wine for a great price. We don’t have bottles of wine priced more than $100 dollars on our wine list. More expensive wines are available via “The other wine list”, a list of continually changing selections that will be available upon request. This list is strictly word of mouth.  For those who love wine or just need to know.

Atmosphere

Il Mercato Café & Wine Shop is a 60-seat indoor/outdoor restaurant that boasts a warm and welcoming look, not unlike a cozy, old-world European neighborhood bistro. Terra cotta tile floors, hand-crafted brick archways, and brick walls co-exist with green-washed and terra cotta-colored walls; quaint cloth-less tables and chairs that dot the space reside opposite the 10-seat bar, before spilling out the front door into an al fresco area. The gelato case and industrial unfinished ceiling introduce a modern element into the space; an element also represented in the cuisine and the wine choices. It is this juxtaposition that will keep Il Mercato fresh and relevant, while remaining neighborhoodand family friendly.
